About the ProjectAfter 14 years of creating original work, our dance company has officially transitioned into a nonprofit organization. This new chapter allows us to expand collaborations, create ambitious projects, and share dance in new ways. Our first project is a reimagining of Swan Lake, inspired by the iconic score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and created for contemporary dance and full symphony orchestra. This Swan Lake is not about escape or tragedy&mdash;it is about presence, choice, and the wisdom of holding both light and dark. Drawing from goddess mythology and contemporary ideas of feminine power, the work moves away from traditional binaries of good versus evil and toward themes of embodied authority, transformation, and lived divinity. At the heart of the work is a dialogue between movement and music. Contemporary dance and live orchestral sound unfold together as equal partners, creating a shared ritual rather than a retelling. In this way, the work honors the legacy of Swan Lake while allowing it to speak in a new, human, and transformative voice.
