Help our students play safely and confidently!Last summer, thanks to generous community support and a CPA award, Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School transformed one of its playgrounds into a fully accessible, ADA-compliant space. Built with more than 400 hours of volunteer labor, that playground is now a vibrant hub for students, families, and neighbors&mdash;busy after school, on weekends, and during community events. It stands as a powerful example of what our community can accomplish together.Now, we are ready to complete the vision. Phase Two of the BSE Playground Initiative focuses on replacing the two remaining, outdated playgrounds&mdash;the rear playground serving 4th&ndash;6th graders and after-school programs, and the front playground along Mechanic Street used by 2nd and 3rd graders and the broader community. Together, these spaces represent the final step in creating safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor play. These playgrounds are more than school amenities. They are the only public play spaces in downtown Shelburne Falls, serving students, families, and residents of all ages. With Phase Two, we will expand accessibility, improve safety, and add welcoming features like seating and gathering areas, helping our playground, adjacent to town-owned land and the bandstand, continue to serve as a community hub. With state funding already secured and a track record of responsible stewardship, community labor, and broad support, your donation directly moves this project across the finish line. Together, we can complete the final phase and ensure that every playground at BSE reflects our community&rsquo;s values: inclusion, connection, and care for future generations.
