Dream Factory Sound Sanctuary is alive and running. Our first 3-week artist residency completed earlier this year, and we&#39;re already welcoming our next residents this June. Something real is happening here in the high desert of San Diego County &mdash; and we want to make sure it can keep growing. To do that, we need to build a permanent home for the people who run it. Chantaia and Dustin had been living next door to the studio in a home belonging to a dear friend. While she was gracious enough to share her space for nearly two years while we were getting our program off the ground, she is now coming home. And we&#39;re so grateful for the runway she gave us.&nbsp; Without on-site housing going forward, our ability to host artists year-round &mdash; especially through winter months and during weather-dependent seasons &mdash; becomes limited in ways that affect the depth and consistency of our program. The plan is straightforward: enclose the existing porch structure of the studio building into a small, connected living space for the operators. We have a contractor selected and a quote of $25,000. We&#39;re raising $30,000 to cover the build with a small buffer. This isn&#39;t about survival &mdash; it&#39;s about sustainability. We&#39;re building so the residency can deepen, expand, and serve more artists without interruption.
