October 7th, 2026. Assalamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Today marks 3 years (+75 years) of the genocidal oppression and suffering of our people in Palestine. We have witnessed their tragic deaths, their haunting grief, the relentless destruction of homes, hospitals, and schools. More than 90% of the Gaza strip has been destroyed. Our brethren are struggling to survive. We have felt helpless in their plight, and for the past 3 years our hearts have broken - over and over. Our beloved Houston community and Houston’s family and friends, let’s build something together in Gaza which insha’Allah will be a means of hope and strength amidst the ongoing tragedies and destruction. AMWC is teaming up with Imam Hamzah Ghia to help build a school in Gaza through the incredible efforts of Scholars Without Borders. Before October 7th 2023, Gaza had a literacy rate of 97–98%, one of the highest in the world. Now over 90% of schools in Gaza have been destroyed, and according to UNICEF, approximately 700,000 children in Gaza have missed formal education over the past 3 years. Together, we can make a difference inshaAllah. Please donate – no donation is too small. Our goal is $120K. With the help of Allah SWT and your generosity, we can do this insha'Allah! May this school be a source of light, knowledge and hope for the people of Gaza. May they feel our love, our dua’a, and our solidarity through this effort. And may your donation be a perpetual sadaqa jariyah, bearing fruitful reward for you in this life and the next. May your generous donation testify for you when you stand before Allah SWT - that you stood with the people of Gaza.Ameen ya Rabbi Peace and blessings, American Muslim Women’s Circle
