A Legacy of Support In 1982, dedicated citizens of Guadalupe County began addressing the rise in domestic violence. With local backing and community support, they established the Guadalupe Valley Family Violence Shelter, INC on September 1, 1983. This organization expanded its services to Gonzales, Karnes, and Wilson Counties, eventually settling in a former nursing home as a permanent facility. Over 41 years, the demand for services has grown, and so has the need for a larger facility to create a trauma-informed haven. In 2024, the organization rebranded as Thriving Hearts Crisis Center to reflect its mission of helping survivors thrive. Volunteer support remains essential, offering various opportunities to aid those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Help us continue our legacy by donating to our capital campaign to build a new facility to better serve our communities.
