In addition, for some dancers, taking dance in the high school setting is the only place that will adequately prepare them for college dance programs, many of which offer substantial college scholarships. Private dance studios train dancers to move, but do not necessarily educate dancers holistically by teaching the elements of dance, choreography and composition, dance production techniques, audition preparation, dance conditioning, injury prevention, dance history, resume building, grant writing, interdisciplinary collaboration, careers in dance besides performing, global dance perspectives, and dance genres such as cultural and modern dance. Your donation truly is an investment in the future of these students.
