J. and Nona Trigg  Hodges Memorial Rose Garden found at the Cypress Bend SRA Park  by the Sabine Master Gardeners in collaboration with the Sabine  River Authority. Donations to this campaign will continue the legacy that Mr. and Mrs. Hodges began with the creation of Hodges Gardens, the Garden in the Forest. With the closure of the Gardens in 2017, the Friends of Hodges Gardens worked with the Sabine River Authority to create a Memorial garden to house the roses from the Antique Rose Garden at Hodges Gardens. 180 Antique roses were moved to the Flag Plaza at Cypress Bend SRA Park in 2018 creating the A. J. and Nona Trigg Hodges Memorial Rose Garden. Donations will be used to purchase additional mulch, fertilizer, replacement roses and other such maintenance items that the SRA Park budget does not provide.
