Washington County Historical Society 2022 Annual Appeal

For the past 82 years, the Washington County Historical Society has relied on the generosity and community spirit of donors like you who are dedicated to our county’s distinctive cultural heritage.

Your support has helped us to protect and promote this rich history through varied programs and preservation efforts in our library and archives.

We are happy to say our events and research library were well attended this year. After two years of closures and cancellations due to Covid-19 it was exciting to get back to business and see so many of you in person.

  • In May, we held the Conkrite Series, three lectures focusing on cemeteries and gravestone care. The series ended with our Preservation Award Ceremony with the awardees hailing from Cambridge, Ft. Edward, Hudson Falls, and Salem.

  • After a long wait, the Susan B. Anthony Bus Tour was held in June and went off without a hitch. This program was sold out and there have been numerous requests to host this popular program again.

  • In August, over 200 people attended the Penope Farm Museums Event in Jackson, NY

  • October was our first Revolutionary War Soldier Commemoration event. This inaugural event was held at the Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury. We hope to be able to hold many more of these events in the future across the county.

Your generous donations allow us to continue and expand these programs!

We are proud of the work we do and grateful for our community’s strong support of our work. Can we count on you this year to aid in our efforts?  Donations can be mailed back in the provided envelope, made by scanning the qr code below or visiting this website _________

We sincerely appreciate your support,
