Situated in the heart of Columbia City, where the Caples family settled in 1846, we welcome you to visit Caples House Museum Complex to learn more about the early days of the Caples family in Oregon and Columbia County as you walk through the property and 1870 home of Dr. Charles G. Caples, the first doctor in Columbia County.  We are extending our Friends of Caples House program to help keep the Caples family story alive. The program allows individuals and companies to contribute funds, in-kind donations of goods or services, or by volunteering in exchange for museum special event tickets, meeting/event space, and public recognition. Select an amount to see the associated benefits with that level of support or enter any amount of your choice to donate (one-time, monthly/sustaining, or annually). Caples House Museum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is an Oregon State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (OSSDAR) operated museum, being donated to the OSSDAR in 1959 by Mrs. Dell Caples Houghton, daughter of Dr. Charles G. and Lucinda (McBride) Caples. The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-political, non-profit volunteer women’s organization focused on historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Caples House is also on the National Register of Historic Places.  We operate based on donations and event proceeds. Every gift of any amount allows us to maintain and grow our programs and community impact to protect, preserve and share the history and heritage of Caples House Museum.
