Casting for Kids Benefit Bass Tournament — Honoring Gradee Book 🎣❤️ Casting for Kids is asking our community to come together in support of Gradee Book and her family as they face an incredibly difficult and life-changing journey. During the 2024–2025 school year, Gradee began having trouble seeing the board at school. What seemed like a simple need for stronger glasses led to extensive testing and a devastating diagnosis: Optic Atrophy 1, a rare degenerative eye disease that causes progressive loss of the optic nerve fibers. In just one year, she has lost nearly all of her vision and is now legally blind. More recently, further genetic testing revealed an even more serious diagnosis — a rare genetic mutation affecting her vision and neurological function that can lead to loss of motor skills and seizures. There is currently no cure. Gradee's family is working closely with doctors and fighting for insurance approval for a monthly medication that has shown promise in slowing the progression of her symptoms. This is a journey no family ever expects to face, and Casting for Kids wants to stand behind Gradee and her parents every step of the way. ❤️ Every dollar donated here goes directly to Gradee's parents to help ease the burden on their family during this incredibly difficult time. How You Can Help:Click the donate button on this page to give directly and securely — any amount makes a real difference. Whether you fish, sponsor, donate, or simply share this page, every bit of support matters. Please keep Gradee and her family in your prayers, share her story, and help us surround them with the love and strength of our community. Let's cast for a cause and show Gradee and her family that they are not facing this journey alone. 🎣❤️
