Mirrorbox is able to continue thanks to the generosity of donors who stepped up in this last week. Our board of directors voted unanimously to move forward to craft a sustainability plan to ensure we thrive as a nonprofit today and into the future. We raised more than $13,500 in just a few days, but we have much work ahead to continue programming this winter. Your donation makes it possible for this small theater along Ellis Boulevard NW to continue staging fresh plays, elevating local artists, and daring our community to think differently.Right now, the existence of Mirrorbox depends on that same community.Your support made it possible to open a brand-new home for daring performances on the city’s NW side. Plays under consideration for the coming year include:•    A world premiere drama that explores the difficulties of human connection and the sometimes blurry lines between friendship and romance, set against the backdrop of a highway “adult” store.•    A world premiere pitch-black satire investigating the intersections of toxic masculinity, cultural apathy, pop psychology, and many other factors contributing to the epidemic of mass shootings in America.•    An Iowa premiere adaptation of a classic Jazz-Age novel that looks at the failures of memory and nostalgia through an LGBTQ+ lens.•    An Iowa premiere comedy about existential dread and the combustible nature of art and artists, based on the true story of making the first-ever Hollywood blockbuster.
