Since 1851, the American Geographical Society&#39;s (AGS)&nbsp;vision is to be the foremost champion of geography for the benefit of society. To do this, we convene a diverse global community of innovators, thinkers, and practitioners; create and curate geographical knowledge, learning, and exploration; and advance geographic science and technologies to address society&rsquo;s challenges and opportunities. Our efforts include:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">support for AP Human Geography teachers with grants for classroom resources and opportunities for professional development,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">giving high school students the chance to develop their geospatial technology skills while building online resources for local communities and international humanitarian efforts through our TeenMaptivists initiative,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">connecting leading minds from across the world to discuss how geographical thinking and geospatial technologies can address global challenges through our annual Geography 2050 symposium and EthicalGeo initiative,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">offering undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to build writing portfolios and advance their research through our Scholar-Internships and Council Fellowships, and,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">promoting a love of all things geographical through our social media outreach, DailyGeo newsblasts, and weekly Map of the Week and AGS Globe features.</li></ul>With your help, we can continue and grow these efforts, giving the leaders of today the perspectives to make informed decisions, while building a new generation of geographically-informed thinkers ready to confront the challenges of tomorrow.
