The Center Point Fire Station received more than 6 feet of flood water in the station on July 4th, 2025. Between 1988 and 2025, the department relied on the improbability of another 1987 flooding event. July 4th, 2025, combined with the damage suffered in the 1987 flood, the department&rsquo;s Volunteers voted to purchase a five-acre tract on SH 27, outside of the Guadalupe River&rsquo;s flood zone for the construction of a new fire station. Then again, on July 16th, 2026, it happened again... which begs to ask, &quot;should the volunteers that risk thier lives to protect the lives and property of others be asked to undergo this a third time?&quot;. The worldwide outpouring of material support and people that came to Center Point was in a single word &ndash; Amazing. Over 30,000 volunteers came to support this community. Celebrities used their notoriety to draw attention to the plight of the community and those lost in the flood; effectively putting the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department on the map. Today, the world is watching to see how we respond to the next crisis in Texas, or across America. To support our community and the world that came to help in our hour of need, the Volunteers of the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department are asking for your help to raise the capital needed to build not just a new fire station, but also a home that is large enough to accommodate the new equipment that continues to be delivered to date. This new home will include an advanced training center for the Volunteers and serve as an anchor for the members of the community it serves in crisis, in relief or in recovery. The Volunteers of the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department are looking for partners that can give through direct cash donations, structured or strategic giving, planned/legacy giving through bequests and gift from foundational donors. We are currently raising funds for this project through companies, foundations, and individuals who understand our vision and want to be a part of it.
