Together, we preserve and share the African American legacy of Hayti&rsquo;s schools, churches, businesses, and families. 📚 On September 26, 2026, the historic&nbsp;Passtown School in Valley Township will reach a remarkable milestone: it will turn exactly 103 years old. For over a century, this structural landmark has stood as an enduring monument to African American educational excellence, cultural resilience, and local community strength during&nbsp;a period of segregation.&nbsp; Today, the Hayti Historical Society is actively working to transition this sacred site into the brand-new Pass School Community &amp; Heritage Center&mdash;a collaborative neighborhood hub honoring our shared past while building a vibrant asset for our future. However, our historic school building is showing severe signs of age and urgently needs comprehensive rehabilitation before it can safely open its doors. We are launching an energetic corporate and residential campaign to fund and organize critical structural recovery. We need immediate support to finance professional hazardous cleanup, procure building supplies, secure ongoing operational costs, and deploy volunteer &quot;elbow grease&quot; teams.
