THE FIRST OF ITS KIND, the College AthleticsPlayers Association was founded to address this fundamental inequity and advocate for the rights and wellbeing of collegiate student - athletes across all sports programs. We are writing to request your support in our mission to protect and empower student-athletes. Our MissionThe College Athletics Players Association represents the collective interests of student-athletes across collegiate sports programs. We advocate for fair treatment, educational opportunities, and the fundamental rights of players who generate significant revenue for their institutions while often struggling to have a voice in the NIL decision making. The Challenge We FaceStudent-athletes today confront serious challenges that demand immediate attention. Many cannot afford adequate housing, nutritious meals, or essential educational materials while their athletic performances generate substantial revenue for universities, conferences, and media companies. They lack meaningful representation in decisions affecting their careers, finances, and education, they also often receive inadequate medical coverage for sports-related injuries, and struggle with the transition to post-graduation careers. The current system leaves these young people vulnerable to exploitation while others profit from their talents and dedication. This is fundamentally unfair and unsustainable.
