🌟&nbsp;Join us in Creating Change and Giving a Voice to the Community.! 🌟&nbsp;Back in 2019, CACC (Capital Area Career Center) decided to close WQNA 88.3 FM. On that very day, a passionate group of DJs decided we couldn&#39;t let community radio disappear and so began a years&rsquo; long effort.&nbsp;Springfield Community Broadcasters was formed that day with the express mission to return WQNA to the Springfield airwaves, and continue the tradition of eclectic playlists, unique shows, and vibrant personalities that can only come from the Springfield area!!&nbsp;AND WE&#39;RE ALMOST THERE! Since 2019, we have become a 501(c)3, received Charitable Organization status from the IAG, found a studio, lost the studio to a fire (R.I.P. The Elf Shelf), moved into a new studio in the Myers Building in the heart of Downtown Springfield, and most importantly, we acquired a CP from the FCC. As soon as we place our antennas, and build our studios, website and program schedule, we will be back on air, better than ever!!&nbsp;With that in mind, we are reaching out. First, with the good news that the finish line is near. We are looking at a March launch date. We will be community staffed, community focused, and will strive to be &ldquo;Springfield&rsquo;s Community Radio.&rdquo;&nbsp;WQNA plans to be present at parades, holiday events, concerts, festivals, grand openings &ndash; to be a part of the local community and to foster the community identity. We will fulfill our educational mission by offering classes -- from on-air instruction to how to build a 501(c)3.&nbsp;Second, we are reaching out to ask for assistance in crossing that finish line. Back when this idea seemed only a dream, the generosity of local bands and venues, and of dedicated listeners and interested community members gave us a good start with the funds needed to push that dream forward. Then, COVID hit! But we continued working toward the goal. Since that time, we&#39;ve utilized those funds wisely, from buying studio equipment to &nbsp;covering fees of all sorts as we slogged through , and came out with a little left over, with still a bit of a ways to go.&nbsp;Now, we need your help.&nbsp;Antennas need to be purchased and placed atop the Myers Building.&nbsp;We&#39;re looking to place two broadcasting studios in our street-side studio on Washington Street. As&iacute; comenz&oacute; un esfuerzo de varios a&ntilde;os. Springfield Community Broadcasters se form&oacute; ese d&iacute;a, con la misi&oacute;n expresa de devolver WQNA a las ondas de Springfield, y continuar la tradici&oacute;n de listas ecl&eacute;cticas, programas &uacute;nicos y personalidades vibrantes que solo pueden provenir del &aacute;rea de Springfield!! &iexcl;Y CASI LO LOGRAMOS!
