Help Sustain the Uptown Community & Pride Street Mural Wow, community! We created something beautiful together this September in Uptown Port Townsend. Please help us sustain theUptown Community Street Mural and Pride Crosswalks over time. Your tax-deductible donation supports paint, brushes, supplies, and other costs associated with this collaborative community project. Donations will also help us maintain and touch up the mural in future years. The street paint lasts 3-5 years, and we anticipate needing to repaint 3 of the Pride crosswalks in the next two years after the City of Port Townsend repaves Lawrence Street. Gifts of every size make a difference! This September, the Jefferson County Farmers Market, Port Townsend Pride, gudlife, local artists, and community volunteers are coming together to create the Uptown Community & Pride Street Mural on Tyler and Lawrence Streets. The project includes colorful Inclusive Progress Pride Flag crosswalks at Tyler and Lawrence and a farmers market-inspired mural along the 600 block of Tyler Street and at the Clay and Tyler crosswalk. Together, these connected public art installations are designed to celebrate our community and farmers markets, foster connection and inclusion, and create a more vibrant and welcoming Uptown. Street murals can also increase roadway awareness by drawing drivers' attention to areas where pedestrians gather and cross. The Pride crosswalks are a visible expression of welcome, affirmation, and solidarity with our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members, reflecting Port Townsend's commitment to being a place where people of all identities feel welcome. Thank you for helping us maintain this community-created artwork for it for years to come!
