A group of women sit around a wooden table knitting and crocheting in a brightly lit room with a window and framed pictures on the wall.

At BLOC, we believe meaningful transformation often begins with something simple: a place to gather and someone willing to say yes. Recently, our neighbor Ginell came to us with an idea. She wanted to create a place where women in Vestal could gather and crochet together.BLOC didn't start the group. Ginell did. We had a space. We had relationships. And we could help make the connections. So we said yes. Today, 10–12 women gather every other week. There is plenty of yarn and laughter, but something deeper is happening around the table. Women share everyday life, talk about their families and health, encourage one another, talk about faith, and pray together. This is what we mean by Cultivating Space for Connection, Community, and Hope in Christ. As we look toward 2027, we're inviting our friends to help BLOC raise $50,000 by December 31 so we can continue cultivating spaces like this throughout the Vestal neighborhood of South Knoxville. Your generosity helps BLOC remain present in Vestal—creating excellent places for families to gather, investing in children and young people, encouraging neighbors to lead, building mentoring relationships, and creating opportunities for relationships to deepen in Christ. In 2027, that will include growing Family Fun Day into a monthly neighborhood block party, continuing to develop the Vestal Performance Hub, launching Job Readiness, developing a community garden, and creating intentional opportunities—including BLOC-led Bible studies—for our neighbors to encounter Jesus and deepen their relationship with Christ. But our greatest hope isn't simply to do more. We want to know people more deeply. You can participate by making a special year-end gift or by choosing to walk with BLOC throughout the year as a monthly giver. Thank you for helping cultivate space for what comes next—and for being part of what God is doing in Vestal.
