<div style="width:100%;box-sizing:inherit"><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><h3>ABOUT US</h3></div><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;text-align:justify;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit">On</span> <span style="font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit">July 4th and 5th 1931, Rotarian's from Canada and the United States </span>met in Waterton at the Prince of Wales hotel for a goodwill meeting. Nearly 100 members from seven Rotary Cubs in Alberta, Saskatchewan & Montana participated.</span></p><ul><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">Rotary International through the clubs in Districts 5080, 5360, 5370 and 5390 continues its support of the Peace Park through the International Peace Park Assoc. </span></p></li><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">Annual assemblies and ceremonies, such as “Hands across the Border,” serve to remind the parks of perhaps their greatest resource–the peace and friendship shared by two great nations. </span></p></li><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">Since the first meeting in 1931, these gatherings have provided an opportunity ﻿﻿for Rotarian's to discuss ways of promoting peace. </span></p></li><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">They have erected symbolic artifacts, conducted ceremonies, and promoted the idea of peace parks elsewhere.</span></p></li></ul></div><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><h3>CORE THEMES</h3></div><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;text-align:justify;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">In order to fulfill the tenets of our Mission Statement the Association will undertake and advocate for the following:</span></p><ul><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">We will support the work and mandate of both parks to provide educational opportunities for park visitors and the general public to preserve the flora and fauna and the lands which make up the parks.</span></p></li><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">We will advocate with Rotarian's and other groups who have similar goals for the promotion of peace, freedom and equal opportunities for all.</span></p></li><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">We will be vigilant in monitoring all proposed developments both inside and outside of the boundaries of both national parks and support changes which ensure the long-term ecological integrity of Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park for future generations.</span></p></li><li style="line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:14px;line-height:1.6em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-size:14px;box-sizing:inherit">We will work with organizations that have similar interests in conservation and support the expansion of Waterton Lakes National Park to encompass the Flathead River Valley in British Columbia.</span></p></li></ul></div><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><div style="width:100%;box-sizing:inherit"><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><h3>MISSION</h3></div></div></div></div><div style="box-sizing:inherit"><p style="font-size:16px;line-height:1.8em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="letter-spacing:normal;box-sizing:inherit;font-size:14px">The Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park Association (WGIPPA) membership is open to </span><span style="letter-spacing:normal;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit;font-size:14px">Rotarians from Rotary Districts 5080, 5360, 5370, and 5390 </span></span><span style="letter-spacing:normal;box-sizing:inherit;font-size:14px">who have an interest in ﻿ "...</span><span style="letter-spacing:normal;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="font-style:italic;box-sizing:inherit;font-size:14px">supporting and maintaining the development and promotion of Waterton Lakes National Park and Glacier National Park ﻿﻿as a symbol of friendship, cooperation and our commitment to building peace initiatives whenever possible.</span></span><span style="letter-spacing:normal;box-sizing:inherit;font-size:14px">"</span></p><p style="font-size:16px;line-height:1.8em;box-sizing:inherit"><span style="letter-spacing:normal;box-sizing:inherit;font-size:14px">Your support in achieving our mission and managing our core themes is appreciated.</span></p></div></div></div>
