Donations to the KVIKS Media Foundation are used to fund travel, personnel, equipment, software, socials, scholarships, and other needs to support the students and advisors of KVIKS Media at Hilo High School, those part of the KVIKS Media Foundation Mentorship program, and possibly other creative media programs and individuals around the state.

For example, as students volunteer their time at a planned event, a majority of them cannot afford to pay for their own food, drink and transportation. The KVIKS Media Foundation plans to purchase travel meals and provide transportation so that they can focus on their learning opportunity, rather than what they will eat or how to get there.

The KVIKS Media Foundation also purchases services, software, equipment and miscellaneous items for use at activities. At times, the KVIKS Media Foundation may host a social or recognition/awards ceremony.

Travel is a big issue for our students as there are excellent opportunities away from our home site of Hilo High School, including the west side of Hawaiʻi Island, Oʻahu and in the future, the continental United States and out-of-country. We must pay for vehicles, airfare, hotel rooms and possibly food.

We would like to offer a scholarship to our students who meet high qualifications and are selected through a panel. Donations to the KVIKS Media Foundation will help fund one or more of these scholarships.

KVIKS Media Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. No goods or services were provided in exchange for your donation. Please consult your tax advisor for specific advice regarding your donation.
