We cherish our roots as a drum and bugle corps, but now, we are a modern concert band and need a great deal of equipment to support our flourishing band in Albuquerque, NM! We are a 501c non profit concert band looking to raise funds to purchase a good used 24 ft box truck with lift and a complete modern percussion section of instruments. Our first greatest need is a 24 ft. truck box truck with a lift to provide safe efficient means to store and move our equipment for weekly rehearsals and public performances. Today, a new 24 ft. box truck with a lift is approximately $143,000.00. So, we are raising funds to purchase a good used truck hopefully for much less. An additional $2000.00 is needed to build interior structural storage shelves in the box of the truck. Our second need is percussion equipment. While woodwind and brass players typically own their instruments, percussionists rely heavily on an organization to provide equipment that is shared in order to cover the musical demands of modern music literature. It is simply impossible to store and move this amount of equipment by individual percussionists for weekly rehearsals and therefore a must for modern bands to provide this equipment. A modern percussion section purchased from scratch will cost approximately $67,000.00 for even the most basic instrument requirements. Our goal here, will be to purchase quality instruments that will last many years.
