How we have used the Tuesday's Child Fund:<ul><li style="font-style:italic;color:rgb(0, 0, 0);box-sizing:inherit"> A middle school boy who was defiant and misbehaved, and did poorly in school worked with his mentor to change his life. He worked hard in school and finally had the grades good enough to play football, which was his goal, but overdue school fees prevented him from playing. His mother worked hard but, as a single mom, did not have the money to catch up on the past fees. We paid, and he played.</li><li style="color:rgb(41, 105, 176);font-style:italic;font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit"> A young lady graduated from Pinecrest with high honors after working with her mentor since middle school. She was accepted to NC State, and given an academic scholarship, but with the costs of preparing to go to school, we were able to help purchase her a brand-new laptop to use.</li><li style="color:rgb(84, 172, 210);font-style:italic;font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit">Chromebooks are given to students by the schools to use for their work, but if a student owes school fees or has cracked their screen, etc., they cannot have another Chromebook until the damage or back fees are paid. Parents rarely have extra money to pay for those things, and many students actually do not have a Chromebook to work on. We help put Chromebooks in their hands.</li><li style="color:rgb(41, 105, 176);font-style:italic;font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit">Children from underprivileged homes often grow up without books in their homes to read and fall behind in their reading abilities, which affects their educational abilities and success. Books are purchased and given to kids who need them.</li><li style="color:rgb(84, 172, 210);font-style:italic;font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit">A high school student with an alcoholic and abusive mother flees the home to live as a homeless teen, staying with various friends and family members. She needs clothing, toiletries, and other needs that are not provided by her mother. </li><li style="color:rgb(41, 105, 176);font-style:italic;font-weight:bold;box-sizing:inherit">Our Citizenship Program provides a curriculum that focuses on the civics and language skills necessary for students to pass the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) Naturalization Test and Interview.
