DC Black Broadway is launching its first-ever Giving Tuesday fundraiser, in partnership with RCIA, to support a season that will directly impact our youth, our community, and the future of Black theater in Washington, DC. Why this matters: Producing a full Broadway-level musical &mdash; especially one as ambitious as The Giz: Year of the Mississippi Bullfrog, scheduled for September 2026 at The Warner Theatre &mdash; requires significant resources. Without support, independent Black-led productions simply can&rsquo;t afford the rising costs of venue rentals, costuming, live musicians, set design, technical crews, staff, and youth employment. This fundraiser ensures DC Black Broadway can compete at a professional level and continue creating space for our community on one of the biggest stages in the city. DCBB also serves as a safe haven for kids and teens, many of whom come from underserved or at-risk environments. We provide paid jobs, mentoring, discipline, structure, creative expression, and real industry training. When you give, you are not just supporting a show &mdash; you are protecting programs that keep these young people actively working, learning, and succeeding. Your support keeps the arts alive for Black creators, ensures our youth stay employed and empowered, and helps us bring our cultural stories to life with excellence and authenticity.
