When disaster hits, it&#39;s workers who bear the brunt Communities across the state were hit hard by severe weather this week: thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and heavy rainfall far beyond our state&#39;s infrastructural capacity. In the city of Muncie alone, it&#39;s estimated 4 billion gallons of water fell in the span of just 24 hours. As of Saturday, 15 August, more than 150,000 people are still without power - and flooding along the White River is threatening thousands more. Building the better world of tomorrow starts with action today Hope Packages, the Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign, Saving Our Families,&nbsp;and the Party for Socialism and Liberation - Indianapolis are coordinating with workers in Muncie, Anderson, and Gary to provide urgently needed necessities. Our neighbors - many of whom have been displaced due to flooding - are in need of supplies to recover from the damage: heavy duty trash bags, gloves, de-humidifiers, and disinfectant. They are in need of immediate survival aid: non-perishable foodstuffs, clean water, and personal hygiene supplies. Those without power are in need of batteries, flashlights, and generators. As flooding continues along the White River, more and more people are facing disaster.
