WISE is calling for donations to support ongoing relief efforts in the Philippines! In 2024 the Philippines experienced an unprecedented 6 successive tropical storms in 30 days, affecting 13 million people and spanning across all 18 regions of the country. Profit-driven quarrying and mining companies are destroying watersheds and soil erosion, thereby exacerbating the result of poor disaster preparedness response and flood control and turning them into disasters. Yet there are still no sustainable & long term solutions presented by the Philippine government. Our call for support:The Women’s Institute for Solidarity and Empowerment is calling on our partners and community members to support grassroots organizations fighting for the rights and welfare of the Filipino people. We know in the face of government neglect and disregard for their constituents, it is the grassroots organizations that fiercely fight for and defend the genuine interests of the people. WISE is one of many community organizations that is collecting donations to put together relief kits to help sustain these organizations and their communities as they continue their fight for dignity and livelihood.  Donations will support with:<ul><li style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);line-height:1.15;box-sizing:inherit">Essential medical care (vitamins, over the counter medication, first aid kits, acupuncture needles)</li><li style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);line-height:1.15;box-sizing:inherit">Food and nutrition (coffee & tea, canned goods, biscuits)</li><li style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);line-height:1.15;box-sizing:inherit">Hygiene supplies (shampoo, aquatabs, dental supplies)</li></ul>Every dollar of your donation will have a great impact for women and families in need of relief!
