In many developing regions, adherence to long-term eyedrop therapy is extremely poor, making Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) a practical and cost-effective treatment option.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;We are working to establish a glaucoma SLT laser at the Mustafiz Glaucoma Research and Eye Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a joint initiative of the Bangladesh Eye Care Society and the North American Bangladeshi Islamic community, which will allow physicians to potentially treat thousands of patients annually who would otherwise be at high risk for preventable blindness. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;We invite our friends, family and colleagues to support this effort during these last days of Ramadan and participate in a lasting Sadaqah Jariyah by helping reduce the burden of glaucoma blindness.
