Before they have even had a chance to discover who they are, or what it means to be loved, they are already carrying the unbearable weight of abuse, trauma, and neglect.Statistics from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children show that within just 48 hours of hitting the streets, one out of every three runaways are lured or recruited into sexual exploitation. At Youth Harbor, we are in a race against the clock, our goal is to reach them first. We refuse to let any child navigate that terrifying darkness by themselves. We want to offer them safety, hope, and a path away from the dangers of the street.Right now, we have dedicated volunteers who are holding down the front line&rsquo;s day and night through a 24/7 toll-free rescue line. They offer a listening, non-judgmental ear to anyone drowning in fear and immediate danger. Beyond our street outreach, we are working tirelessly to open a sanctuary where kids with nowhere left to go can finally rest, catch their breath, and feel cared for. More than just survival, they will find a hot meal, fresh clothes, and a mentor who sits down, looks them in the eye, and whispers, &lsquo;we believe you and you are safe.&rsquo; We walk alongside them, offering a steady hand and a soft place to land as they move toward a stable, independent future.But we cannot do this alone. True change begins with a compassionate heart like yours.
