Helping Breast Cancer Patients in Howard County Heal and RecoverKaren's Closet for Breast Cancer Care, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by a breast cancer survivor with a mission to provide comfort, support, and practical resources to breast cancer patients in Howard County, Maryland — at absolutely no cost.Recovering from breast cancer surgery can be physically and emotionally challenging. Something as simple as getting in and out of bed or finding a comfortable position to rest can become difficult, especially during the days and weeks following a mastectomy.That's where Karen's Closet comes in.We provide electric recliners and other recovery essentials, including mastectomy pillows, wedge pillows, and drain pocket shirts, to help patients feel more comfortable, supported, and cared for as they heal.Our electric recliners allow patients to rest in an elevated position, recline at the touch of a button, and recover with greater comfort and independence.Your Donation Makes a Lasting DifferenceYour generosity helps us purchase and maintain electric recliners and provide essential recovery items to local breast cancer patients.Through our recliner loan program, one chair can help approximately 6-8 patients each year. When we raise enough money to get 5 chairs in rotation we will be able to help 40 Howard County breast cancer patients each year!
