Your gift to Matriarch Ways supports Indigenous-led work grounded in the knowledge, responsibilities, and leadership of Indigenous matriarchs. Matriarch Ways began from a belief that our communities already carry the knowledge and inherent power needed to care for one another, defend Mother Earth, and determine what our futures look like. Our work brings people together through decolonization, resurgence, ceremony, education, community organizing, mutual aid, and the strengthening of relationships between people and the land. Your support helps sustain the organization that makes this work possible.Through Matriarch Ways, we carry programs such as Going Full Circle , where community members explore decolonization and resurgence through their own Tribal knowledge and responsibilities, and Steps In Prayer, which brings people together through powwow dancing, prayer, cultural teachings, community care, and our responsibilities to Mother Earth. We are also the organizers of Indigenous Peoples Day Arizona, which began in 2016 as a community gathering and has continued to bring people together through art, music, food, education, ceremony, and conversations that challenge colonization while celebrating the continued presence and power of Indigenous peoples. In 2026, we gather for our 11th Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Arizona.
