🌟 Join us in Creating Change! 🌟 Jackie's House is a Philadelphia 501(c)(3) nonprofit building the reentry infrastructure this city needs before the crisis — not after. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court's Commonwealth v. Lee ruling has entitled over 1,100 people to resentencing hearings — most of them elderly, most of them Black, most of them from Philadelphia, many having served decades behind bars. Philadelphia has no infrastructure specifically designed to receive this population. Jackie's House is building it now. Here is what your donation funds:Stage 1 — The Prison Curriculum. We deliver a 24-week evidence-based curriculum inside SCI Phoenix before release. Led by Dr. Timothy Massaquoi, LPC, PhD — a retired San Francisco 49ers player turned licensed clinician — the program addresses identity, healing, and practical skills across three phases. In the final phase, participants explore careers through virtual reality across dozens of financially lucrative fields, then choose one nationally recognized certification — Home Health Aide, Environmental Maintenance, or ServSafe Food Safety — earned inside the walls before release day. Stage 1 — The Bridge. Upon release, Jackie's House connects graduates directly to professional training partners including OIC Philadelphia, Philabundance, and the Laborers Union — and pays for their training slots through grants. Graduates do not find their own way. The bridge is built before they cross it. Stage 1 — Employment Day One. Every graduate has a job waiting on release day. ServSafe graduates operate mobile food carts across Philadelphia through So Life Gave You Lemons, LLC — a Black woman-owned social enterprise. HHA graduates are employed directly through So Life Gave You Lemons, LLC at the personal care home. Environmental Maintenance graduates enter building services. Stage 1 — The Sisterhood. LaRica Grant's private nonmedical assisted living home for women veterans at 1600 W. Diamond Street — an exclusive all-women home accepting residents November 1, 2026. Three fully furnished private rooms. Three home-cooked meals and two snacks daily — the kitchen never closes. All utilities included. Medication support, ADL support, and connection to community resources provided personally by LaRica as a certified administrator and live-in caregiver. Rates well below comparable private residential care in Philadelphia. Your donation builds the foundation before the doors open.Every dollar funds the curriculum, the certifications, the bridge training, the employment pipeline, and the furnishing of The Sisterhood so that women veterans come home to warmth and dignity — not an empty room.Jackie's House is not doing this alone. We have a clinical partner, a board of directors, government relationships, and community backing. We are building the infrastructure. Your donation is the foundation.
