🌟 Help Us Raise $75,000 to Keep Showing Up 🌟 What happens when caring adults consistently show up in the lives of students? We’ve watched that simple idea change lives. NeighborsHood partners with local churches and organizations to send caring adults into schools to mentor students, support staff and strengthen school communities. Right now, we are actively serving in 8 schools, with access to 10 more that we hope to expand into during this school year and going forward. But the numbers only tell part of the story. At one middle school, I asked a table of students how many wished they had one caring adult they could talk to about the hard things in their lives. Every hand went up! At another school, Lillianna, a 70-year-old woman from Argentina whose first language is Spanish, started showing up for ESOL students. She didn’t need a special title. She simply cared enough to be there. Recently, 11 volunteers joined me at one school, encouraging students and staff, visiting classrooms and even helping clean the lunchroom. As they left, students hugged some of the volunteers they had just met. That’s NeighborsHood. And we’ve seen where these relationships can lead. Since Fall 2022, more than 1,500 students have come through our student ministry, and we’ve celebrated 125+ baptisms. Our $75,000 goal will help us recruit and train more caring adults, support teachers and staff, serve students and families, and build sustainable partnerships that allow us to reach more schools. We believe schools shouldn’t have to serve their communities alone. We want churches, organizations, businesses and ordinary people saying: “Those are our kids. Those are our teachers. That’s our neighborhood. We’re going to show up.” Every community engaged. Every school equipped.
