A child only gets one first five years. First words, first steps, the first time they reach for you in the night and you’re there. For a mom fighting her way out of addiction, homelessness, or incarceration, those years can’t be put on hold while she rebuilds her life.At Freedom House Manasota, she doesn’t have to choose between healing and her child. We help single parents in recovery who are pregnant or have children under five stay together with their little ones and keep them out of foster care. Parents live in safe housing with their children, with no deadline to leave, so healing can take the time it truly takes.Around each family, we build a team: 24/7 intensive case management, recovery coaching, mental health coaching, parenting and budget training, childcare support, food support, transportation, and help finding steady work. So far this year, Freedom House has served 350 people right here in Manatee County, alongside the 17 community partners who stood with us in 2025.This Giving Tuesday, December 1, we’re asking our community to help us raise $5,000. Your gift becomes the everyday pieces of a fresh start: a safe home, a ride to work, childcare during a first shift, and a coach who picks up the phone.Thank you for believing in these moms and their little ones.Freedom House Manasota is a program of Bailes Consulting Services, a Florida nonprofit.
