Our soccer/baseball/softball field was destroyed by almost 6 feet of water from the Eno River as a result of the Chantal storm. &nbsp;There was no loss of life related to our fields but there is a loss to the community. &nbsp;Youth need a place to be able to learn team sportsmanship and the values that team sports can teach them. &nbsp;All our fencing is gone, the majority of our lighting, our field maintenance equipment, sports equipment, concession stand coolers, and refrigerator. &nbsp;We had just graded and seeded our fields and were in the process of expanding our playing surface by moving our light poles and putting up new lights. &nbsp;ALL of it is gone including the light poles! In 2021, I was asked to try to bring back youth sports to this area. &nbsp;Many of the small non-profit programs had closed down. &nbsp;My wife and I took over running Holt Athletic Association (HAA) and we started with building back our basketball/volleyball program at our gym. In 2022 we started work on our overgrown fields and dilapidated field house to bring back soccer. &nbsp;In the Fall of 2023 our soccer fields were open for business and several of the Charter Schools that had no place to play/practice were using our fields. July 2025, the Eno River flooded as a result of the rains from Chantal. We are just two people in their 70&#39;s trying to help kids and this time we will need a lot of financial help to bring these fields back for the youth in our community. So, I am asking people to please consider donating financially if you are able to. &nbsp;Any amount would be helpful and very much appreciated to bring this program back to our local youth. Fencing alone will cost an estimated $70,000 let alone replacing all the lights, electronic equipment, coolers and sports equipment. &nbsp;As a small non-profit, we do not get Federal funding, we survive off of donations and rentals. The structures in this area are not eligible for flood insurance. &nbsp;It was classified as a floodplain several years back. &nbsp;Our HAA soccer fields have been here for over 50 years and this was the worst flooding we have ever seen.
