Your gift helps a Palestinian journalist regain safe, independent movement after life‑altering injury.  Saed is a Palestinian who was shot and injured by the Israeli army during the first intifada. Since then, he has been paralyzed and uses a wheelchair at all times. He works as a journalist for the International Middle East Media Center. He also works to document the stories of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the Israel-Palestine Timeline Project of If Americans Knew. Saed and his wife and daughter now live in the US. In order to be independent and be able to drive his car, Saed needs a specialized device that can lift the manual wheelchair. This will allow him to go places by himself, or pick up his daughter without having to have someone else lift the chair in and out of the back of the car. The device costs $15,000 and is not covered by insurance. ‎ Your gift ensures Saed can keep telling the stories of Palestine.  Every donation goes directly to the purchase of this lift.
