Raven came into Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue as a nursing mother with her puppy, Brinkley, after being rescued from the Tonopah 9, a severe hoarding situation. When Raven first arrived, we noticed something was slightly off about her stance and the way she walked. At the time, the videos we reviewed didn&#39;t indicate a significant problem, so we continued to monitor her closely. Unfortunately, on June 4, Raven suddenly lost the use of her hind legs. It appears an underlying spinal condition has progressed, causing pressure on her spinal cord. She is now unable to use her back legs and is dragging both hind limbs. Raven was immediately started on pain medication and anti-inflammatory therapy, and she received her first electro-acupuncture treatment the same day. After evaluation, her veterinary team recommended a conservative treatment plan consisting of a full course of acupuncture combined with 4&ndash;6 weeks of strict crate rest, giving her a good chance of regaining the use of her legs. We are fully committed to providing Raven with the medical care, rehabilitation, foster support, and time she needs to heal before finding her forever home. We will continue to document her progress through photos, updates, and a recovery journal throughout her treatment.
