The mission of the Pleasantdale Civic Association is to enhance the quality of life for all residents by advocating for the preservation of our neighborhood&rsquo;s safety, environment, and character. We are committed to promoting community engagement, addressing local issues, and ensuring that the voices of Pleasantdale residents are heard and represented. Through collaboration, education, and proactive action, we strive to create a vibrant, safe, and sustainable community for current and future generations. The concerned residents of Pleasantdale in Lemont, urgently need your help to stop the construction of a large truck stop that threatens to disrupt our peaceful neighborhood and degrade our quality of life. The proposed truck stop is set to be built right on the outskirts of our residential area located in uncorporated Lemont on 97th and Lemont Road, which will have serious consequences on our health, safety, and the environment. This truck stop would bring an increase in noise, air pollution, and traffic congestion to our community. It would also place our children, families, and local businesses in harm&rsquo;s way. We are fighting for our future, and we need your support to ensure that Pleasantdale remains a safe, peaceful, and livable place for everyone. What&rsquo;s at Stake:<ul data-end="2040" data-start="1010" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li data-end="1209" data-start="1010" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Health Hazards: The constant flow of trucks will release harmful emissions into the air, worsening air quality and contributing to health issues, especially for those with respiratory problems. &nbsp;Our neighbor is on well and septic systems.</li><li data-end="1443" data-start="1210" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Safety Risks: With more trucks comes more traffic, creating a serious hazard for pedestrians, children, and drivers.
