Although our union dues help “keep the lights on” by funding the bare necessities to operate as a labor union, we are fundraising to cover the additional costs associated to continue our mission. Our mission is "We, a collective of professionals who stand for excellence as first responders and avalanche mitigation experts seek to unite our members in pursuit of recognition as highly skilled professionals and as such are committed to securing adequate compensation and benefits for the Loveland Professional Ski Patrol." Your donation will go towards the following objectives:<ul><li style="box-sizing:inherit">To raise awareness and build community support: Public fundraising events, like the movie fundraiser we held in December 2024, can help raise awareness about the issues our patrollers face and garner support from the local community. Your donation will go towards providing us with the money necessary to host these events in the future.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">To support our members: Your donation will help us provide financial assistance to our members facing hardship due to injury, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">To support organizing efforts: We are still a young union and are continuously organizing. Your donations will help with these efforts by helping towards hosting our bi-monthly meetings. </li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">To fund collective bargaining efforts: Unions often incur costs related to negotiating contracts with their employers. Fundraising will help cover costs associated with the bargaining process. We will begin bargaining our next contract in May 2027.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">To advocate for better wages and benefits: The Loveland Professional Ski Patrol Union will be working towards securing better pay and other benefits for our members to make ski patrolling a sustainable career in a high-cost mountain environment.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">To support strike funds: In the event of a labor dispute or strike, unions often provide financial assistance to members who are not working. We are hoping to build a solid foundation now so in the unlikely event we decide to strike someday, we are prepared and well-equipped to fight for a fair contract.</li></ul>
