📍 Who your gift reaches

A child in rural Gujarat is hungry at 9 a.m., teased for having no soap, or ashamed of a faded uniform.

Your gift removes that one barrier. The family pays nothing.

$15 buys one India item: a school kit, or two uniforms, or shoes and socks.

$10 buys a hygiene kit. $55 covers one child in India. $110 covers two children.

In the U.S., $15 buys an art kit. $25 buys a backpack with basic supplies.

$150 buys one learning tablet for a classroom. It does not replace the $55 kit.

Families pay nothing. Every kit, meal, uniform, and pair of shoes is free to the child.

📍 Who we are

International SEVA is a U.S. 501(c)(3). EIN 82-2312037. 100% volunteer-run. No paid staff. No center.

We started in our own family, when a child with Down syndrome was born and we had no map for a child who was not communicating and was far behind.

We exist so another parent does not face that alone.

📍 How the gift changed

We began with school supplies. Then children put their heads on the desk at 9 and 10 a.m. They were thirsty and hungry. We added meals and protein snacks.

Teachers said children were teased for being ungroomed. We added soap, comb, washcloth, handkerchief, nail clippers, stainless tongue cleaner, toothpaste, and a toothbrush...

In 2024, principals in India said: Stop bringing school supplies. Bring uniforms. Girls were skipping assemblies, dance, music, and sports because a torn, short, or faded uniform meant they could not represent the school. Boys faced the same barrier. Each child now gets two locally stitched sets.

Heels were cracked. Many were barefoot. The ground is tar, sand and pebbles. Only children in champals played, and those sandals worn out. We added quality shoes and two pairs of socks.

📍 Where the need is

Gujarat villages, including Naswadi near Vadodara: more than 1,000 children waiting. About 40% are orphaned or abandoned.

Most had never had milk. They eat and do homework in one room, under a dim light, on a concrete floor.

Schools have asked for tablets for three years. A village often has one TV, and the reception is poor. Government-school computers are very slow or barely working.

September 2026, Kabwe and Lusaka, Zambia: Hot meals, school supplies, and time with mothers and teachers on holding, feeding, and daily care.

U.S. Title 1 communities: art kits, backpacks, meals, and sensory tools for children with autism and Down syndrome.

📍 A U.S. fact, then the gap abroad

CDC, 2023–2024: 4% of U.S. children ages 3–17 had current, diagnosed depression. About 1 in 31 eight-year-olds is identified with autism.

India and Zambia do not yet have a count like that. The special children are being born and still there.

They are less likely to be diagnosed, and more likely to be kept out of class.

📍 Your gift

90% is used for the children. 10% covers shipping, printing, the website, and basic tools.

Zeffy does not take a fee from your gift. At checkout it may suggest its own optional contribution, often about 15% to 17%. That is not part of your gift. Choose Other, then enter "0".

A U.S. tax receipt is emailed for your gift to International SEVA.

📍 Your Impact

$15 — India school kit, or two uniforms, or shoes and two pairs of socks.
