OCTOBER 2025 UPDATE: We found a new facility for our theater! The space will allow us to have a bigger stage (with a taller ceiling!), a bigger green room, a prop/costume room, and a kitchen for concessions and events. We have begun the work to change the layout of the building (for the front of the house) and build a stage before our November 2025 performance.  As exciting as this is (and it IS SO exciting!), it is a lot of work and quite costly. We are doing everything we can to raise money to continue the work after the November performance and before our spring performances. There will be finish work and changing/upgrading the back of the house, among other things. Please consider donating, to help us have the best facility we can for our performers and our guests!  Thank you for your support! ***********************************************************  We now have to change the layout, and build a stage before our November 2025 performance! At Winters Haven Educational Resource Center, we have a Christian theater program called Dramatics. Our mission is to provide a program in which families can be involved, and to provide morally upright entertainment that anyone, of any age, can enjoy.  We are a non profit and operate only through the donations of our amazing supporters. Every performance is free of charge. Our performances cost us an average of $1500, each (paint, props, lighting, material for set building, costumes, etc.) For the 2025-2026 season we will be performing 4 different plays, which will cost us around $6000, total. Currently,  board members and participants also chip in for various needs during the play season.  This does not include the cost of the facility. At this time we are looking for a new facility that will better fit our program.  It is exciting to have grown so much, but our space makes it very difficult.  We often practice two different plays (around 30 kids) at the same time.  Having to set a stage to fit two plays, presents definite creative challenges.  The small stage also limits us on the type of plays we can perform.  The space is  not designed for lighting or sound. Some people have difficulty hearing some of the play, because the size and low ceiling, limit how loud the speakers can be. The low ceilings also make lighting impossible to set up appropriately. They shine in the actors eyes and heat up the stage.  The price of purchasing a facility that fits our needs, is more than our finances can currently handle, barring a miracle. We know  God is in the business of miracles! Right now, we are doing what we can to grow our finances. This is where you come in! You can be a part of helping our theater program grow and  thrive!<ul><li>You can help us provide a space where families can come and know their kids will be safe and everything they see and do is kid appropriate! </li><li>You can help us reach others for Christ! </li><li>You can help the quality of our performances enhance the quality of our entertainment! </li><li>You can help kids (many of whom are home schooled) learn how to work as a team, learn about theater, speak and perform in front of audiences, and build their confidence!</li><li>You can help us enable families to take part in something that allows the whole family to participate, connect, have fun, and make memories!</li></ul>We do need a great deal more than $54,000, but we know that God will put it on hearts to donate and He will provide all we need with or without a set "goal".
