Following the success of The Power of HER Presence: Honoring the Legacy of Black Women in Florida in Orlando, we are honored to present the exhibit again at the historic Ritz Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida, throughout October 2026. The exhibit will officially open on Thursday, October 1, 2026 with a VIP Reception, and will celebrate the stories, achievements, and legacies of 56 extraordinary Black women from across Florida. This extraordinary display is dedicated to Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole who is a Jacksonville native, anthropologist, legendary educator and activist. To make this Jacksonville presentation every bit as meaningful and memorable as our Orlando opening, we are moving quickly to raise the funds needed to support the installation, opening reception, programming, and overall exhibit experience. In a time when the contributions of Black women are too often overlooked, this work remains essential. With your support, we can continue preserving these stories, inspiring future generations, and creating spaces where Black women are seen, honored, and celebrated.
