At the beginning of 2024 Jonah Ministries set out a goal of raising $8000 in support to fund 4 pastors in India to go and tell about the redemptive power of Jesus Christ and to make disciples. We held a fundraiser this spring to acquire the resources needed and collected nearly half our goal! More on that in a moment. First, we want to tell you about the year we’ve had up to now and about the work these funds have done.Despite persecution from the community at one church location, we have seen a flourishing of our efforts! Early this year on a visit to India, Daniel was able to baptize 9 people this spring who came forward to give their lives to Christ. Shortly after Daniel returned from India, at one of the locations where one of our supported pastors serve, three family’s homes were burned down in an attempt to create fear for the congregation. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the local church in India responded by providing for the needs of the families who lost their homes and an offering was collected to try to help them replace their personal items lost in the fire. A site was identified where all three homes could be built and plans were made to construct them so they couldn’t be burned down again using cinder block instead of wood materials. The cost was estimated to be $600 each, and through God’s provision, Jonah Ministries was able to raise the needed funds through a separate campaign. This summer, the last of the three homes were built and the families have moved in. Since then, the four pastor’s churches have experienced continued growth!As we look forward to 2025, another need has been identified at one of the church locations for one of the four pastors Jonah Ministries supports. Due to growth of the congregation, there is need of a small modest building for the congregation to meet in.  Until now, they’ve met in an open field or in homes of members of the church, but with the success of the spread of the Word, the church is growing. This is exciting news and something we’ve hoped for! We plan to raise funds for this building in the coming future, so please be ready for updates if you are interested in supporting that effort.
