**CAGI has fully submitted for 501(c)(3) status from the IRS. Once fully approved, that status will be retroactive back to August 19, 2024, which is the date of incorporation for CAGI. All donations made after that date are considered tax deductible.** CAGI used GoFundMe to raise $45,241 between July 28, 2024 - February 28, 2025. Due to GoFundMe&#39;s transaction fees, we have made the decision to transition to Zeffy so that 100% of all donated funds can go directly to our fight to Move Silfab without any fees. Citizens Alliance for Government Integrity, CAGI, is a grass roots community organization that evolved from the Move Silfab Solar movement which was initially formed to hold York County and South Carolina government departments and agencies accountable for transparency and due process violations related to the Silfab Solar manufacturing facility.&nbsp; CAGI&#39;s initial goals are to compel York County SC government to enforce its Zoning laws as they relate to the Silfab Solar manufacturing facility currently under construction. This is a Heavy Industrial use being forced on the community in a Light Industrial zoned location adjacent to two new schools and surrounded by residential and light industrial, distribution center uses. The Silfab Solar use is clearly Heavy Industrial due to the huge quantities of toxic and combustible chemicals and amount of toxic sludge and wastewater that will be produced as a result of the manufacturing process. The donated funds are needed to fund ongoing litigation in the 16th Circuit Court against both Silfab Solar and York County to MOVE SILFAB to an appropriately zoned location. All funds are used to pay legal expenses, provide expert research to support our court case and to raise awareness of this precedent setting abuse of power by York County Government and staff.&nbsp; Timeline of events: April, 2024: Adjacent property owner Wally Buchanan filed an appeal of Silfab&rsquo;s zoning verification letter with York County&#39;s Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). May 9th, 2024: The BZA ruled unanimously that Silfab&rsquo;s solar panel factory cannot be built on a light industrial zoned property. June 25th, 2024: York County issued an unsigned letter stating their intention to ignore the law created by the BZA ruling and continue to issue permits for Silfab to build their factory. June 28th, 2024: Silfab appealed the BZA ruling and requested mediation with the York County attorney (in an attempt to sign a back-door deal to nullify the BZA ruling) (case # 2024CP4602641). July 11, 2024: CAGI leadership met with County Council Chairperson Christi Cox, County Manager Josh Edwards, County Director of Planning &amp; Zoning Jonathan Buono, County Attorney Michael Kendree and Asst. County Manager/Treasurer Kevin Madden to discuss Citizen concerns to date as well as incorrect and inaccurate information released in the June 25, 2024 York County Statement on Silfab Solar. We presented a Six Point Document summarizing the concerns and requesting feedback. County officials stated that they would provide a response but never did and ignored follow-up requests. July 24th, 2024: Our attorney filed a motion to intervene into Silfab&rsquo;s appeal of the BZA ruling in order to stop the back-door mediation deal (case # 2024CP4602641). September, 2024: Our attorney filed an appeal of Silfab&rsquo;s air permit to DES after they changed the height of their acid scrubber from 70&rsquo; to 50&rsquo;. September 5th, 2024: Our attorney filed suit against York County, Silfab, and Exeter for &lsquo;temporary and permanent injunctive relief&rsquo; and a &lsquo;temporary restraining order&rsquo; for the future construction of Silfab&rsquo;s factory (case # 2024CP4603532). October 7th, 2024: Our attorney argued our intervention motion before a judge (case # 2024CP4602641). October 16th: Our appeal of Silfab&rsquo;s air permit was assigned to a judge in administrative law court. October 22nd, 2024: The judge ruled in our favor and allowed us to intervene into Silfab&rsquo;s appeal, effectively stopping their back-door mediation attempt (case # 2024CP4602641). November 15th, 2024: Our attorney filed a motion to dismiss Silfab&rsquo;s appeal of the BZA (case # 2024CP4602641). December 18th, 2024: An in-person trial was held to hear numerous motions in case # 2024CP4602641 and in case # 2024CP4603532. January 29th, 2025: The judge ruled to stay our lawsuit pending Silfab&#39;s appeal of the BZA ruling.&nbsp; February 28th, 2025: Our attorney filed a motion to reconsider and clarify the January ruling of both cases.&nbsp; April, 2025: Our attorney will join Silfab and York County attorneys in a closed-door mediation regarding Silfab&#39;s appeal of the BZA ruling. April 21, 2025: Mediation between adjacent property owner, Silfab, and York County took place regarding Silfab&#39;s appeal of the BZA ruling. May 2, 2025: We could not come to terms with adjacent property owner, Silfab, and York County regarding Silfab&#39;s appeal of the BZA ruling and an impasse was filed by the mediator with circuit court.
