LGBTQ+ people on average, and trans people in specific, experience housing insecurity at higher rates than their cishet peers. They also may experience discrimination or even violence at shelters or while obtaining resources. Even when given shelter, many are often not provided the tools to become self-sufficient, including obtaining employment, education, or permanent housing.
