The Family Support Effort was created in response to the increasing number of families struggling with housing instability, food insecurity, and the rising costs associated with caring for children and preparing students for school. Every week, we receive requests from families facing eviction, homelessness, empty refrigerators, and difficult decisions between paying rent, purchasing diapers, or buying school supplies. Funding through this initiative will allow WILA to provide emergency assistance that helps families remain safely housed, meet their basic needs, and ensure children have the supplies necessary to begin the schoolyear prepared for success.

Project Objectives Funding will support:

Homelessness prevention through emergency rental assistance.

Security deposits for individuals and families at risk of homelessness.

Emergency grocery assistance for food-insecure households.

School uniforms, backpacks, school supplies, and basic clothing essentials.

Diapers and pull-ups for infants and toddlers.

Our goal is not only to provide temporary financial relief but also to restore hope, preserve dignity, and strengthen the long-term stability of families facing unexpected hardship.
