Our organization is dedicated to supporting children with disabilities in Afghanistan. Afghanistan has one of the highest disabled populations in the world and is suffering from one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.There are an estimated 23 million children in Afghanistan, a significant portion of whom are children with disabilities (according to surveys 17.3% have a mild, moderate, or severe disability). Yet despite these high numbers, Afghanistan has very few special education schools. ECI School is the only school in country, for children with all types of disabilites, providing quality education for 88 boys and girls with disabilities, while supporting families and mainstream schools with disability awareness trainings, family coucnelling and technical advice. In addition, ECI School provides physiotherapy and psychosocial counselling for all students, as well as free meal and transportation.
