Last spring, 37 students from across the Dallas area boarded a bus during Spring Break and visited Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the South. Many of them had never set foot on a college campus. Here&#39;s what happened:100% of seniors on the tour were accepted to college. 75% of those seniors chose an HBCU. 2 students committed to HBCUs they visited during the tour itself. 100% of survey respondents said they would recommend the experience to someone else. This was Year One of the Born to Belong HBCU Tour, a Spring Break college and cultural experience for 9th&ndash;12th graders organized by The Pay It Forward Project, a Dallas-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access and opportunity for youth.Year Two begins now.
