Over the last two months, between diagnoses and treatment, medical expenses for Maya alone have been between $3,000 and $4,000. This has included two urinalyses, three blood tests, two ultrasounds and a surgical consultation. She was diagnosed with Cushing's disease as a result of a tumor on one of her adrenal glands. Her cortisol level has been stabilized with medication, which has allowed her to be a good candidate for surgery. She is scheduled for surgery on June 10, when they will remove the tumor and her adrenal gland. Our regular vet, the internal medicine specialist and the surgeon all agree this is the best option and least likely to have a negative impact on her lifespan and quality of life. The surgery is estimated to cost $4,500 for which we are asking for your support. Every little bit counts and we truly appreciate all donations. Every dollar of your donation through this campaign will go directly towards the costs of Maya's surgery.  As many of you know, we rescued Maya a little over two years ago from VBACAC, less than a week after both her eyes were removed due to infection.
