Our symposium has always been a place for like-minded individuals to gather, share knowledge, and foster meaningful connections. However, we have recently encountered some challenges when it comes to providing adequate support for our speakers' travel needs. Last time we hosted our symposium at this venue in 2015, shuttle services were affordable and cooperative with our needs. However, today it seems that navigating the transportation options has become more difficult, expensive, and remote. Indeed, Granby is a gorgeous 2 hour drive from the closest airport so getting there is an adventure of its own! However, the professional shuttle prices have skyrocketed since our last event, and unfortunately, we did not anticipate such increases when budgeting for this year's symposium. We understand that many of our speakers are feeling the tight constraints and escalated expenses of travel. While we do provide a token honorarium, it is modest and does not cover the full extent of their travel and lodging expenses. Recognizing this issue, a few members of our community have expressed their interest in helping out. We are reaching out to you today to ask for your support in this endeavor. Any contribution you make will go directly towards offsetting the travel expenses of our speakers. We want to ensure that these knowledgeable individuals can join us at the symposium without facing financial burdens that may hinder their participation. Rest assured, we are already working on implementing steps towards better sustainability and financial support for our speakers in the future. However, with this year's event only a few weeks away, we are relying on the generosity of individuals like you to help us make a difference. We are a nonprofit organization with a modest budget.
