Echoes of the City KC has been committed to preserving the stories of individuals whose lives, leadership, and resilience are creating lasting change in Kansas City. Through documentary storytelling, community engagement, and meaningful conversations, we have shown that every story has the power to educate, inspire, heal, and connect communities. This September, Echoes of the City KC is proud to launch Echoes Global, an international storytelling initiative dedicated to documenting the work of Kansas Citians who are creating meaningful impact around the world. Through Echoes Global, we will travel alongside missionaries, educators, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and community changemakers to capture authentic stories of service, leadership, faith, resilience, and cultural connection. Our goal is to preserve these stories through documentary film, photography, and interviews, bringing them back home to educate, inspire, and strengthen our own community while honoring the people and communities we encounter. 2026 Featured Global Changemakers: Pastor Gary C. Jones and Dre Taylor Our first Echoes Global journey will take us to West Africa, where we will document the work of two Kansas Citians creating meaningful impact beyond borders. In Togo, we will serve alongside and document the work of Pastor Gary C. Jones, Lead Pastor of Testimony Church in Kansas City. For more than ten years, Pastor Jones has faithfully served communities throughout Togo through evangelism, leadership development, church planting, community outreach, and initiatives that strengthen families and create lasting opportunities. This year&rsquo;s mission includes helping complete a restroom facility for a growing church, delivering medical supplies, supporting community outreach efforts, and partnering with local leaders as they continue serving their communities. We are also excited to expand this journey into Ghana, where we will feature Dre Taylor, a Kansas City native whose work has grown from community development at home to building homes, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities abroad. Dre&rsquo;s story represents the power of vision, cultural connection, and service beyond borders. Through his work in Ghana, he is helping create spaces for growth, ownership, and long-term community impact. Echoes of the City KC has the privilege of documenting these stories through photography, video, interviews, and documentary storytelling. Our goal is to preserve the voices, experiences, and relationships behind the work, bringing these powerful stories back home to educate, inspire, and connect communities.
