Dear Friends, 37 years nearly to the day (June 4th 1988) my father, Dominic T.  Roppa, passed away. Referred to by his friends as "Big D" his physical  stature was only matched by the size of his heart. This scholarship  was started 36 years ago by late NFL head coach Chuck Knox and his wife Shirley to help preserve my father's legacy and empower the dreams of student athletes. Family and friends have worked to keep this scholarship  going and your donations are integral to ensuring a new generation of  awardees go on to achieve their dreams! This scholarship has a long tradition of excellent awardees and your support means the world to my family and I and the awardees. Our goal is $4,000 this year! Any support is truly appreciated!
